A Portrait of Obi Kelvin Ezenyili

Obi Kelvin Ezenyili was born on the 1st of October, 1984, in Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria; to the family of Late High Chief Chike C. Ezenyili and Late Mrs Antonia N. Ezenyili, both from Oko Amakom Village, Oshimili South Local Government, Delta State, Nigeria. He had his Primary School Leaving Certificate from Regina Mundi (O.L.A) Private School, Asaba, Delta State; then proceeded to St Peters Junior Seminary for His Junior Secondary School certificate. He then complicated His Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WAEC)  from a Community School in Emolga, River State, Nigeria. Afterwards, he proceeded to Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, Nigeria; for his undergraduate certification/Bachelors degree in Political Science and Public Administration where he graduated with a Second Class Upper-Division, and also the best Graduating Student of Political Science and Public Administration in the Year, 2008. He further proceeded to the University of Ghana for an Internet Technology Professional in the year, 2009. Afterwards, he gained admission into the University of York, United Kingdom- to study Political Science and Public Administration (MSc.); and concurrently, he studied Governance and Public Policy (MSc.) in the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He is presently a Phd student of Political Science and Public Administration in Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, Nigeria.

Obi Kelvin Ezenyili is a research scholar, With Graduate background in Political Science: Public Administration, Comparative Politics, Research Methods, Democracy and Fiscal Federalism.

Post-Graduate background in Democratic Governance: Public Policy and Administration, Developmental Governance, Local Governance, and Paradigms in analysing the Policy Process. He has also been honoured an Alumni Distinguished Award of Excellence in 2016, from Igbinedion University Okada, Edo State, Nigeria. As an author of Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria: A Survey of Indices of Transparency and Accountability, He has developed analytical, communicative and organisational skill in guiding his thought on todays society in comparison with the past, on how social policies through deliberative governance can enhance development. Apart from earlier engaging in various business ventures during and after University, Obi Kelvin Ezenyili has been privilege to serve in various capacity at both Local and State Government levels, this has given him the esteem to identify various areas that need approach in enhancing various Local Governance, and Democratic Good Governance.    

Obi Kelvin Ezenyili has served in Delta Broadcasting Service during his National Youth Service (2013-2014). He has also served as Supervisor, Special Duties and Agriculture in Oshimili South Local Government Council, Asaba, Delta State (2014-2016). He proceeded to serve in a higher capacity as The Special Assistant (Special Duties) to the Executive Governor of Delta State; Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, under the direct supervision of the Delta State Chief Job Creation Officer, Prof. Eric Eboh (2016-2019). In the same capacity, He served as Senior Special Assistant Youth Monitoring and Mentoring, under the supervision of Grandpa, Edward Mekwunye, The Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor (Directorate of Youth Monitoring and Mentoring, 2019-2020). 

Presently, Obi Kelvin Ezenyili is the Mayor of Asaba, and The Executive Chairman, Oshimili South Local Government Area Council, Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria; having Meritoriously emerged the winner of the ‘March 6th 2021’ Local Government Chairmanship election, and having been sworn in on the ‘8th of March’ by The Executive Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili is Happily Married!
